Frozen Pond

Slide across the ice to reach the fish. Plan every slide!

🤔 How to play

  1. Pick your critter and a level.
  2. Choose a direction and slide! On ice you keep going until a rock or the snowbank stops you.
  3. White snow patches stop you on the spot, and so does the fishing hole.
  4. Reach the fish. Each level tells you the fewest slides it can take: can you match it?

To slide, use the arrow buttons, swipe, tap a square in the direction you want, or press ← ↑ → ↓. Z undoes, R restarts and H or 💡 shows a hint. Every level has been checked by computer, so every one can be finished. Nothing is saved: ticks for finished levels last only this visit.

What it practises

Planning several moves ahead and thinking backwards from the goal ("what could stop me right next to the fish?"): the kind of reasoning behind coding and maths problem solving.
